United States Organization for Banruptcy Alternatives - USOBA
USOBA is the United States Organization for Bankruptcy Alternatives and is the industry leading association of the debt settlement industry. USOBA’s mission is to “represent the debt negotiation industry by creating state specific agendas and to advocate for fair regulation and protection of consumers.
Within the Debt Settlement industry, USOBA membership is regarded as the highest accreditation for a company to obtain. TASC is another competing association for debt settlement companies but has a much lower membership and represents the interest of only the companies and does not advocate for consumer protections.
USOBA is headquartered in Houston, Texas and monitors member companies through a third party verification process. The Accreditation Program was implemented in February of 2006 and has since improved the standards within the debt settlement industry. The program is administered thru BSI Management Systems; a third party impartial auditing agency. USOBA is the most respected industry association for the Debt Settlement industry.
